Alex Raymond pencils and inks; 8/26/1953 daily strip; image size 20" x 5.5"

Wonderful Rip Kirby strip, created by Alex Raymond, legendary artist of Flash Gordon, and one of the most revered and influential artists in all of comics history, in 1946, and the strip he worked on until his unfortunate death in 1956. Raymond's influence can't be overstated, he pioneered what would become the look of comics (strips and books) for generations, you can still see his influence on artists today who have never seen his work. This strip is an excellent example of his 'photorealistic' style and impeccable brushwork. From the 'International Incident' storyline that ran from 5/11 - 9/5/1953. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition. Signed by Raymond.
