Unknown artist pencils and inks; 'My Mother -- My Rival!' complete 5 page story; 1953; image size 12.5" x 18" ea.One of the more bizarre romance stories of the Golden Age 'My Mother -- My Rival!' must have seemed taboo in 1953, so much so that less than three years later the story was reprinted with, minor and major, alterations and the title changed to 'My Sister-- My Rival!' in order to pass the Comics Code which did not exist when the story originally appeared. The text was changed to suit the new story, and panel three on page three has been completely redrawn obscuring the original panel. Unfortunately the original artist is unknown, the work bears similarities to Joe Certa and Bill Draut, but neither are confirmed. Pen and ink. Art is in very good condition, because of the alterations there are some missing paste-ups (including the 'Sister' from the title).
