DESCRIPTION
Complete Run #1-80! Includes scarce low-distribution issues, most in high grade.

Before the film director, Michael Bay, made Tranformers a global, multi-billion dollar film franchise, there was the Marvel Comic that ran from 1984 - 1991. What started as a 4 Issue Limited Series quickly became an overnight success, and with Issue #5, Marvel knew they had a hit on their hands. Collected in this lot are all 80 issues, including all of the very scarce and extremely rare low-distribution issues from the final years of the series. What took one collector a lifetime to assemble can now be yours in one fell swoop.

The artwork gracing the covers and pages include works by Transformers stalwarts such as Frank Springer, Ed Kupperberg, MD Bright, Herb Trimpe, Andrew Wildman, Jose Delbo, and Don Perlin, and contributions by artists such as Jim Lee (covers to #53 & #67), Michael Golden, Mark Texeira, Charles Vess, MD Bright and Kyle Baker. Some of the writers who defined the Transformers Universe include Bob Budiansky, Bill Mantlo, Ralph Macchio, and the fan-favorite Simon Furman whose famous run spanned issues #56 - #80.
Reread the magic of Marvel-Transformers characters such as Buster and Circuit Breaker, and relive the robot death heard around the world with Optimus Prime's passing in Issue #24. Remember the days when Shockwave (not Starscream) vied for Megatron s supreme rulership of the Decepticons, and the times when Grimlock reigned as Autobot leader. Also don't forget that the concept of the Autobot Matrix was introduced in Issue #5 years before it made it's way into the cartoon. You'll even get to see rare 1980s guest appearances of Spider-Man and Brick Springhorn (Bruce Springstein).

All comics are poly-bagged and boarded 2 to a bag. Listed below are grades, listed from #80 on back. As astute collectors know, the later issues are tougher in any grade, whereas the early are quite common and easy to upgrade.
