Sure-Fire Comics #1 was the start of the strange career of superhero Flash Lightning, who was popular enough for the book's title to change to Lightning Comics with issue #4. Flash wasn't as popular as DC's superhero, however, and he soon had his name changed to Lash Lightning. Interestingly enough, Lash didn't bother with a secret identity (although his real name was Robert Morgan, an explorer who'd been gifted with an amulet by an Egyptian mystic).
Lash was super strong, super fast, and could fly super high. He also could generate electricity. That allowed him to zap a woman who became Lightning Girl in Lightning Comics #13. That was also the final issue of the title. Lash (with his name shortened to "Lightning") still stayed busy through 1946 as a regular featured character in the Ace title Four Favorites .
