Denver CopyCrack Comics #1 is an anthology that marks the first appearance of the Black Condor, a hero gifted with the power of flight, who would share cover time with the already established Clock, the featured hero on this book. Black Condor would eventually go on to star in this title before moving over to DC where he would join the Freedom Fighters and the All-Star Squadron after Quality Comics was absorbed by the larger, more successful imprint. The impressive Lou Fine cover design was typical of the early days of the industry, using a known entity in the Clock, a yellow peril theme, and a dash of damsel in distress to move copies.
Hailing from the admired Denver pedigree, this book is in splendid condition, boasting intense hues, solid binding, and keen corners. The appearance of the Clock, quite possibly the first masked hero in comics, along with the premiere of Black Condor make this issue a target of Golden Age fans, when you add in the solid state of this book, you have a real winner on your hands.
