only issuePeanuts by Charles Schultz is arguably the most popular comic strip in the history of the medium, and this comic book is the only issue ever published in this series, while there have been other Peanuts appearances in comics, this is the sole issue in this run. The cover shows the early incarnations of Charlie Brown, Patty, and Snoopy as they looked in the 1950s, the characters would change in appearance somewhat over the years but the fundamental tone of the strip would be in place from the very beginning. Due to their relative rarity Peanuts comics are quite popular, and of course, the affection fans feel towards the characters Schultz created add another level of desirability to this interesting publication.
This punny cover is in pretty good condition and has well-defined colors, and nice corners, there is a slight bit of discoloration at the bottom of the cover but it is well away from the trio of figures and does not seriously affect the overall appearance of the book. Peanuts fans are sure to go nuts for this copy but don't expect to pay peanuts for this lot at auction.
