rare; 1st "The Phantom" app. in comic books
The Phantom—who predated Superman in both daily newspapers and comic books—was wildly popular throughout much of the 20th Century. Lee Falk's beloved character debuted in comic books with this Feb. 1938 issue of Ace Comics #11 , in an issue that could very well mark the first appearance of any superhero in a newsstand comic. This historically important comic is extremely rare, only found in numbers low enough to rival the scarcity of Marvel Comics #1, Action #1, and Captain America #1. Collectors never fail to leap at the shockingly rare opportunities to own this remarkable artifact. This classic comic is available here in a very rare 4.5, with only 4 issues graded higher in the CGC Census.
