Jim Lee pencils/Scott Williams inks; illustration; c. early 2000s; image size 15" x 20"; The largest Wolverine ever drawn by Jim Lee!Massive illustration from the early 2000s of Wolverine by the classic X-Men team of Lee and Williams. Always popular, commissions by Lee are perpetually in demand and fetch high prices, both new and on the secondary market. Making this one all the more remarkable, beyond the spectacular image of Wolverine with his claws out, standing over the burning, smoking wreckage of a defeated Sentinel, are both its size (15" x 20"!) and the fact that it is inked by Lee's longstanding, legendary-in-his-own-right collaborator Williams. Pieces of this caliber, by both artists, at this size simply do not come up for sale often.
Pen and ink. The art is in excellent condition. Signed by Lee and Williams.

Comic book illustrator Jim Lee is the President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics. He was previously Editorial Director of WildStorm Studios (which he founded in 1992) and the artist for many of DC Comics' bestselling comic book and graphic novels, including All Star Batman and Robin, Batman: Hush, and Superman: For Tomorrow. Prior to DC, he was one of the founding fathers of Image Comics and best known for his run on the X-Men for Marvel Comics during which he co-created such characters as Gambit and Agent Zero.
