Peter Ledger and Carl Barks art; page 256 color art; 1981; image size 9.5" x 14"Page 14 from the story 'Land of the Pygmy Indians', originally printed in Uncle scrooge #18 in 1957 this page was recolored for this collection of classic Barks stories in 1981. The new coloring was done by acclaimed Australian artist Peter Ledger who highlighted Barks' drawings with lush vibrant airbrushed colors. The color art was done over a blueline printout of the artwork, with an acetate overlay of the art in black. The page has been signed by Barks and Ledger in panels six and seven. Mixed media. Art is in excellent condition, matted to 14" x 18". Includes COA.
Artist Information
Carl Barks is an american cartoonist, comic book artist and painter who's famous for his work with Disney comics. Carl was posthumously dubbed by fans "the good duck artist" or "the Duck Man" as he was one of the first to write and illustrate Donald Duck stories as well as being the creator/artist behind Scrooge McDuck.
