Russ Heath pencils/Heath w/Dave Stevens inks; 'Mars wants Bettie" page 7; 1996; image size 10" x 15"'Klaatu Barrada Ditko'. Great page from Dave Stevens' Bettie Page one-shot, from the story 'Mars Wants Bettie', which featured Bettie confusing real aliens for a sci-fi B-move set. the page features a scantily clad Bettie throughout, as well as a reference to the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still, with 'Ditko' replacing 'Nikto' in its classic alien phrase. The story is credited as being penciled and inked by Heath, but the Bettie close-ups in panels four and seven are in fact inked by Stevens, whose delicate brush work is plainly evident. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition. Signed by Heath and Stevens.

Dave Stevens was an American comic book artist and illustrator most famous for creating The Rocketeer comic book and film character, and for his pin-up style "glamour art" illustrations, especially of model Bettie Page. He was the first to win Comic-Con International's Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award in 1982, and received both an Inkpot Award and the Kirby Award for Best Graphic Album in 1986.
