When Tradd Moore, with writer Donny Cates, launched Silver Surfer: Black, few could have predicted what would follow. In a very short period, Moore would go on to become a sensation among fans and collectors alike with his clean style and superb artistic skills hiding an abstract surrealist sense of design and fantastical wonder.
This page, from the first issue of the series, featuring the Surfer in every panel doing battle with Knull, is the very first page from Silver Surfer: Black to come up for auction. This follows years of increasing demand and increasingly high prices being realized on the secondary market. If this is what the future of comics looks like then the sky truly is the limit to what we can expect to see going forward. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition.
