Schomburg may have been more obessively detailed, Raboy may have been a finer draftsman, Kirby was pure punch and concentrated power, and Frazetta was, well, Frazetta, but oh man, Biro. Always over-the-top, always eye-catching, always aggressive, never boring, never vanilla. He may have been lionized for his frenetic and disturbing crime covers, but boy howdy is this cover a killer. MLJ had to compete with the Big Guns somehow, and throwing caution to the wind with covers like this got them plenty of attention.
