Wolverine and Zealot!

We have here a stunning page from one of the most sought after books of the 90s. Charest came into his own as a fan favorite during his initial run on Jim Lee's WildC.A.T.S. taking that experience to the next level with his work on the much anticipated Marvel/Image crossover. The drawing here is a marvel to behold, with a level of detail that is borderline otherworldly. Charest had to bring in help to finish inking the issue on schedule, in this page it is plainly evident that he handled much of the heavy lifting himself, especially on the characters faces and on the more intricate details.

The second image is a montage of close-up images so you can see the exquisite detail in each panel.

The page features Wolverine (with his claws out) dispatching a Nazi demon, and then joining Zealot from the WildC.A.T.S to chase down the villainous Kenyan, who escapes dramatically on a passing plane — leaving the two heroes atop a train rigged to explode. To say these pages are cherished is an understatement, for a book that is over 25 years old, the pages almost never come up for sale, being held onto like priceless family heirlooms, the most recent page to sell publicly sold for nearly $20,000. This particular page was purchased in 1998 directly from Wildstorm and has been in that collection ever since. Pen and ink w/ink wash. Art is in excellent condition. Signed by Charest.
