This legendary comic would be even more rare if the executives at Detective Comics, Inc. had their way. The corporate brass had already filed a lawsuit over the publication of Wonder Comics #1, claiming that the book's Wonder Man was a blatant copy of Superman. Wonder Comics #2 still managed to (barely) hit the newsstands—without the presence of Wonder Man, but offering one of the comic industry's most important first appearances. The cover of this outstanding comic boasts the professional debut of artist Lou Fine, who'd quickly become recognized as one of the Golden Age's true masters. The ambitious illustrator is already at the top of his game here, with clean and confident lines vividly presenting what should be a rough and gimmicky image.
