A 15% BUYER'S PREMIUM WILL BE ADDED TO THIS ITEM AT CONCLUSION OF THE AUCTION John Romita Sr. pencils and inks; illustration; 1985; image size 10.5" x 13.5" Rare Wolverine illustration by his co-creator!Stunning, large, published merchandising illustration of Wolverine by John Romita Sr. Even though he is one of Wolverine's co-creators, and was one of the main designers of the character, the elder Romita actually drew him for print only a very small number of times. This wonderful drawing from 1985 represents one of the finest examples, Wolverine is seen here in his iconic brown and tan suit, introduced by John Byrne in the pages of X-Men, which would be his defining look for many of his classic 1980s stories. The drawing is in full board sized vellum, which has been affixed at the corners to a thicker art board. On the back of the board are production approval initials which show that the drawing was used in print. Pen and ink on vellum. Art is in excellent condition. Signed and dated by Romita Sr.
The image of the drawing used on packaging is for reference only. Artist Information
