Jim Starlin pencils and inks; Messiah Page 2 (Marvel Comics, 1982); image size 11.75" x 17.5"
A Vintage Starlin Sci-Fi Story! No one does space battle quite like Jim Starlin. This page depicts the chilling aftermath and calm before the battle begins anew. Produced larger than “Twice-Up”, this is Page 2 to the six-page story. Starlin places us right in the middle of the action, enabling the reader to feel the cold unforgiving alien terrain. From the bronze age of comics! The entire six-page story had been locked away in a collection for the last 40 years and only recently have individual pages finally made their way to the marketplace! Only one other page from this six page story has ever been made available to the public.
Published September 7, 1982 as page 2 of the story Messiah.
The art is accomplished in ink over graphite on thick Bainbridge illustration board. It measures approximately 15 x 20 inches and is in excellent condition.
Panels 6 and 7 are photostats of panel 8 with hand drawn alterations.
Images from the published book are for reference only.
