El Sorprendente Hombre Arana #128 is a true legend of foreign comics, and has become a global favorite for fans of Amazing Spider-Man! This beloved collectible was actually published before Gwen Stacy's 1973 death at the hands of the Green Goblin. Shortly before that tragedy, however, the La Prensa publishing company was granted permission from Marvel to create their own stories. (Amazing Spider-Man was so popular in Mexico that the licensee had began to publish the title every two weeks.) The company's fill-in illustrator was Jose Luis Gonzales Duran, whose work had turned Gwen Stacy into a very popular figure with adult readers. This particular issue really showcases Gwen's appeal as Peter Parker imagines their wedding while under the influence of the Green Goblin's hallucinogenic gas. Peter and Gwen would never be properly married, of course, but La Prensa still gave the two a happy ending. Gwen was so popular that the company just ignored the official storyline when Marvel killed off the character. Instead, La Prensa continued their own comics featuring the loving couple!

El Sorprendente Hombre Arana #128 is a perfect example of the appeal of foreign comics, featuring a rare look at a wedding between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. The bride truly looks beautiful on this 7.5 copy, as well. There are only 14 copies of this ultra-scarce comic on the CGC Census, with only two graded higher!
