Detective Comics #55 features a classic Bob Kane cover showcasing the industrial intrigue of lead story "The Brain Burglar" — with Batman getting lucky when his investigation into the missing Dr. Deker is interrupted by Bruce Wayne's date with girlfriend Linda Page. The night out includes a visit to her uncle's munitions factory, where some Axis operatives are testing out a mind-control device invented by the abducted scientist. This beloved book also captures the Golden Age in bloom with a full page ad for the Star-Spangled Kid's debut in Star-Spangled Comics #1.

This copy of Detective Comics #55 is one of the two highest-graded examples on the census, with only 87 copies listed overall, this is a hard-to-find comic, especially in top grade. Bob Kane’s cover illustration shows the Caped Crusaders battling a pair of menacing thugs atop a runaway train flatbed. The cover is incredibly bright and well-preserved, with a sunny yellow background that enunciates the muted hues of the characters involved in the melee in the fore. The scarcity and condition of this copy are sure to make it a highly desirable investment target in EA#61.
