Sheldon Moldoff cvr/art; Shelly's 1st Hawkman cvr

Flash Comics #7 makes room for back-up hero Hawkman to take over the cover, with Sheldon Moldoff illustrating a classic image from his own story of "Czar, the Unkillable Man." It's a wild tale that has Hawkman being his usual brutal self while putting an end to a criminal sculptor and his superpowered henchman molded from "plasma clay." The Flash still takes the lead story as he battles a villain with access to "The Metal Disintegrator" made by a well-meaning scientist.

Flash Comics #7 features an amazing cover illustration from Golden Age stalwart Shelly Moldoff, his first depiction of Hawkman to be precise. Although Flash Comics was the vehicle for the Scarlet Speedster, he often shared top billing with Hawkman, as the two characters enjoyed a strong fan base in the Golden Age, which would lead to their resurrection in the Silver Age once the rebirth of superhero comics occurred. There are a scant 44 copies of this incredibly rare comic on the CGC census, with this 9.0 being close to the top in condition. The colors on this cover are bright and varied, everything from sunny yellows to inky blacks stand out. The book is in exceptional condition, and fans of the more esoteric and rare issues from the period are sure to be waiting with bated breath to bid on this excellent issue.
