Pep Comics #20 would be an enduring collectible just for Irv Novick's classic cover depicting the surreal damnation of Nazi forces. The Shield and his sidekick Dusty join the Hangman in grimly overseeing the punishment. Fireball is also in this issue as MLJ's take on the Human Torch, but this issue would mark the hero's final appearance of the Golden Age. (Pep was still some time away from Archie Andrews regularly joining the Shield on the cover,) The classic contents include the Shield attempting to stop "Dr. Wang's Kidnapping Plot" to abduct the infant son of the King of Ruthama,
