Edward Everett Evans (1893-1958) was an American science fiction author and enthusiast. In 1953, he married fellow sci-fi writer Thelma D. Hamm.
Evans' published works include the novels Man of Many Minds (1953), The Planet Mappers (1955), and Alien Minds (1955). Two additional titles were released posthumously: a collaboration with E. E. "Doc" Smith called Masters of Space (1976), as well as a short story collection titled Food For Demons (1971).
In 1923, a publication called Weird Tales was founded with the mission "to publish brilliantly strange material that can't be found elsewhere." Today, the iconic magazine is renowned for launching the careers of celebrated authors like H.P. Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury, and Robert E. Howard, as well as legendary fantasy artists such as Virgil Finlay, J. Allen St. John, and Margaret Brundage. These and other groundbreaking writers helped shape the landscape of popular fiction and define the science fiction genre as we know it.
