A 15% BUYER'S PREMIUM WILL BE ADDED TO THIS ITEM AT CONCLUSION OF THE AUCTION
Herb Trimpe pencils and inks; Corner Box art; 1971; image size 1.75" x 4.25"Great example of early 1970s corner box art from Marvel's Kid Colt Outlaw (used on issue's #156-#162), drawn by Herb Trimpe. Corner box art is incredibly desirable as they were often used over multiple issues and are rarely available. This one has been hand colored (likely by Trimpe) and mounted to a larger black bboard which has been inscribed 'Hi Kids - Best wishes from your friend -- Kid Colt', it's possible that this piece was used as a giveaway of some kind from Marvel. Pen and ink. Art is in excellent condition. Signed by Trimpe.
Artist Information
Herb Trimpe was an American comics artist and occasional writer, best known as the seminal 1970s artist on The Incredible Hulk and as the first artist to draw for publication the character Wolverine, who later became a breakout star of the X-Men. During his career he would draw nearly every character in the Marvel stable, and a few that weren't including memorable work he provided for Marvel's 1980's licensed titles for Godzilla, Shogun Warriors and The Transformers.
