Pencils & Inks by Jack "The King" Kirby, 20" x 26" on board. Simply Amazing! When one thinks of iconic pieces in the world of comic art several pieces may come to mind... and then there is this piece. Originally created for a Marvelmania Poster, it was drawn in 1969 and published in 1970. Silver Surfer, Herald of Galactus, soars straight off the page mounted on his cosmic surfboard. The Devourer of Worlds, his creator, Galactus, looms ominously in the background marveling at the Surfer as the "Kirby krackle" sizzles.
Simply by its sheer size, an astounding 20" x 26", it is an extremely impressive piece of original art. Coupled with the fact that it's penciled and inked by Jack "The King" Kirby, arguably the greatest comic artist of all time and you have a holy grail of comic art. It is important to note Kirby was usually inked by one of his contemporaries. To find a piece of art penciled and inked by The King is rare in and of itself, let alone for one of his greatest heroes in the Marvel pantheon of characters.
The art is in great condition and super clean. It is free of artwork paste-ups. Truly an 11 on a scale of 1-10.
This Kirby Masterpiece has remained locked away in a private collection for 20 years. Away from the prying eyes of countless collectors who all share one single and admirable goal- To own it. This is your chance. Good luck.
