While other second-tier publishers were chasing the comics craze by cranking out anonymous work by cheap, starving jobbers, pounding out stories overnight, Quality comics upped the ante by stuffing their Crack Comics title with some of the finest talents then working in illustrative art. Packaged initially by the immortal Eisner-Iger studio and boasting incredible work by Lou Fine, Jack Cole, Paul Gustavson, Klaus Nordling, Gill Fox, and a host of others, Crack Comics blazed ahead of the game with its standout art and inventive covers. The title became a beloved favorite of the first wave of post-boom comic historians and continues to attract and delight serious comic buffs and collectors to this day.
