Ethan Van Sciver pencils and inks; 11" x 17"

This phenomenal piece of cover art by Ethan Van Sciver shows Batman raising himself up out of the top of the Mad Hatter's chapeau. The illustration features wonderful contrasts between dark and light, dramatically displaying Batman's struggle to escape the confines set on him by one of his most dangerous nemeses. The squinty eyes and evil grin on the Hatter's face only serve to increase the sense of foreboding that encompasses this entire work. Obviously the efforts of a talented artist performing at the top of his game, a powerful image that would be a great addition to any serious comic-art collector's library.
