Giant-Size X-Men #1 features the first appearance of Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, & Thunderbird as they join the X-Men lineup, and shook up the entire comics industry after hitting the racks in the summer of 1975. Len Wein and Dave Cockrum introduced a whole new team of mutant heroes to take over Marvel’s long-running title, with the characters debuting here before taking over the regular X-Men title with issue #94. (Future breakout star Wolverine had already appeared in the pages of Incredible Hulk, of course.)

Numerous X-titles would prosper over the decades, and it was no surprise when the super team was chosen to launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Investors can count on a bright big-screen future for the X-Men, as well. Fans have been thrilled to see Marvel Studios retrieving the rights to the beloved characters, with Deadpool and Wolverine emerging as one of the biggest box-office hits of 2024. To this day, the mutant team and their spin-offs remain amongst Marvel's best-selling books.
_______________________________________________

One of the highest graded copies of Giant-Size X-Men #1, this book has no noticeable condition concerns visible to the naked eye. The centering is immaculate, the white background is as clean as can be, the colors are glossy and vibrant, the spine is tight and rigid, and the corners are perfectly cut and sharp. The growth in value of this issue has been quite a phenomenon to witness, taking its place among the most treasured and valuable Bronze Age keys. As time goes by books from the period are slowly inching into territory previously reserved for Silver and Golden Age output, but with so many of the era’s impactful storylines being mined for MCU content, the Bronze Age is being taken more seriously than ever by investment collectors. This comic is always in high demand and always trending upwards in value.

Overstreet Guide 2020 NM- (9.2) value = $2,300.
