DESCRIPTION
Glen Keane sketch; The Beast; undated; image size 7.5" x 6.5"Great sketch of The Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast by the characters lead animator Keane. Keane is one of the most important and well regarded Disney animators from the 70s through the 90s, acting as lead or supervising animator on almost all of their high profile films of that era. In addition to his work with Disney, Keane directed Kobe Bryant's Academy Award winning short film 'Dear Basketball'. Pen and ink on an 11" x 14" board. Art is in excellent condition. Signed and inscribed by Keane.

Glen Keane is the son of cartoonist Bill Keane, creator of The Family Circus. In his own right Glen is an award winning animator who spent 37 years at the Walt Disney animation studio, acting as a lead character animator and/or supervisong animator on films including The Fox and the Hound, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Tarzan, among many others. After leaving Disney he directed the Academy Award winning short film Dear Basketball, which was written and narrated by Kobe Bryant.
