RARE RARE RARE! historic oversized early DC comicIn the fifth installment of New Fun, pulp entrepreneur and publisher Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson took over the reins of editor-in-chief, deciding what content to include in this historic document. This is the penultimate issue, with the next being the final entry, and, much like the previous four, this book is overflowing with original stories, from a variety of genres, all in an oddly oversized book, as it had not yet been decided what size a comic book was supposed to be. All the earliest entries in the formative years of comics hewed closely to this anthology format, setting the stage for the Golden Age, and all of the chills, thrills, and spills to come.Graded at a 5.0 this is one of the nicer copies we’ve seen as the size and age of this issue lead to many of the surviving examples being incomplete or very timeworn, so this is a rare opportunity to land this book in a decent grade. There are a very small amount of these relics out there, collectors of the beginnings of the industry take heed. The featured strip on this cover looks quite nice and has managed to avoid the majority of the condition issues that surround the perimeter.
