Punch Comics #12 always brings together pulp fans and comic fanatics in appreciation of Gus Ricca's timeless cover art. The disturbing image also illustrates the outrageous instincts of notorious publishing showman Harry "A." Chesler, Jr. As a powerful image set against a foreboding black background, collectors consider this cover to be one of the true classics of pre-Code adventure comics.
The contents are also a vital part of this book becoming a true collectible, featuring two-fisted heroes Captain Glory and Master Key, the first appearance of Rocketboy, and exceptional art from George Tuska as Hale the Magician battles slavers in Egypt. The sordid stories are all part of the aptly titled Punch delivering hard-boiled heroes behind hard-hitting covers such at this gunfight-in-a-skull classic. Mr. Chesler himself assures us that this is one of the "World's Greatest Comics." Who would argue with that?
