Amazing Spider-Man #1 was rushed out after Spider-Man's debut in Amazing Fantasy #15 became an overnight sensation. (Marvel still added the top-selling Fantastic Four in their first crossover to bring in new readers.) This first issue has since remained a cornerstone of comic collecting — with co-creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko bringing in the first appearance of J. Jonah Jameson as one of the most iconic supporting characters in the history of comics. Fans also meet JJJ's astronaut son John, along with The Chameleon's debut as Spidey’s first supervillain. The evil Master of Disguise has been one of the major missing figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and is finally set to make his big-screen debut in 2024’s Kraven the Hunter.

Of course, Amazing Spider-Man #1 has added value for establishing both Peter Parker and Spider-Man as major influences in building the Marvel Universe. This is the first issue of a title that would feature an extended cast of classic villains who'd torment heroes across all the Marvel titles. The book also provided Peter Parker with a supporting cast of family and friends that's endured for decades, with nearly all finding big-screen fame in Marvel movie projects.

This copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1 earned a CGC 6.5 and has off-white to white pages. The iconic Jack Kirby cover looks incredible, boasting sharp renditions of the members of the Fantastic Four, as well as Spidey in his iconic red, blue, and black suit, which really pops off the page. As the comic market has heated up in recent years, Spidey only grows more popular, his keys and early issues have been selling like hotcakes. Amazing Fantasy #15 has been going for record prices every month in every grade, and Amazing Spider-Man #1 is a natural target as well, being Spider-Man's second appearance, and second-most important book. Spider-Man is always in high demand, and ASM #1 is a fantastic comic and rock-solid investment piece.
