The Fantastic Four broke out big as Marvel's most popular stars, but the super team still had plenty of fantastic firsts in the action-packed issue #15! The sprawling title of "The Fantastic Four Battle the Mad Thinker and His Awesome Android" doesn't even address how the criminal genius (making his Marvel debut) first splits up the FF with a series of job offers.
By the time the ex-heroes decide to reunite, the Mad Thinker has taken over the Baxter Building and created his enduring Android from Reed Richards' prototype. This classic comic from the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby/Dick Ayers trinity also offers the first appearance of the Yancy Street Gang, and even has future Marvel legend Roy Thomas popping up in the letters page — helping to ensure that this later issue remains a beloved book to comic collectors!
